    College Scholarship

    DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APril 7th!

    OUR 2024 scholarship is still open!

    Welcome to Eagle's Annual College Scholarship.

    Four deserving Eagle members will each win a $4,000 this year.

     Eligibility:

    • Applicant must be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in a 2-or 4-year technical or accredited college (undergraduate or graduate) in Fall 2024. Applicant must be at minimum a senior in high school or older (no maximum age).

    • Applicant must have their own membership with Eagle Community Credit Union. If you are not yet a member, you can complete our online membership application, or visit one of our five branches. Applying is simple and your $5 one-time membership fee will be reimbursed when you use code Scholar2024 to sign up. (Fee reimbursement processing will take two business days.)

    • The membership must be in good standing i.e. not eligible if only joint on parents account, or if your own account is dormant or is negative, in collections, etc.

    • Eagle CCU employees, volunteers and their family members are not eligible.

     

     

    How to apply

    STEP 1

    Make sure you have a (digital) copy of the transcripts from your last year of high school or your previous year in college (unofficial accepted).

    STEP 2

    Write a 500 word essay on one of the following topics of your choice:

    A) How important is financial education? Should it be taught at schools? How would you get the most use out of free resources like Eagle's Banzai Financial Education Portal?

    B) How does a Credit Union differ from a bank? Has a Credit Union helped you or your family out of a difficult situation before? What was your experience?

    C) How to manage money is not a topic many young people get excited about - and is often not taught in schools. How would YOU engage young people and teach them about money and the responsibilities that come with it?

    D) Social Media - Blessing or Curse? How do YOU use social media to your advantage?

    STEP 3

    Post to either Facebook, Instagram or X (formerly Twitter) - mentioning the scholarship - and tag us with both @EagleCommCU and #EagleCUScholarship ! This must be a post/reel to your profile (not a story) and stay up until the winner has been picked and published.

    STEP 4

    Fill out the application form below.

    STEP 5

    Go to our free Financial Education website Banzai and create a profile for yourself using your email address. Make sure to use this link for our scholarship applicants. Take the "Cost of College" course – and you are done with your application! (We will only see that you finished the modules on our end, we will NOT see the information you entered into the modules. These are tools meant to help YOU and will not influence the outcome of the scholarship selection.)

    If you are not yet an Eagle member, or are not the primary member (i.e. the main member and not a joint on a parents account), please complete our membership application to join or visit one of our five branches.

    Once completed and your membership is opened, you will be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

    • List and include all your community and school activities in which you have participated, and a description of the type of work you did, and the role you served in each (i.e., service organizations, volunteer work, school activities, clubs, teams, etc.). (optional)
