The Best Pumpkin Patches in So Cal10/12/2018

  • The Pumpkin Patch – (300 E. Yorba Linda Blvd., Placentia, CA, 92870)

Southern California’s oldest pumpkin patch, established 1976, The Pumpkin Patch is fun for all ages! It offers a petting zoo with goats, baby chicks, turkeys, pigs, bunnies, and beyond. Young visitors can search for and keep precious stones, pan for gold, drive mini tractors, get their faces painted, play water and carnival games (everyone gets a prize), and pose in fall costumes! You may wish to shop the variety of decorations and pumpkin supplies after searching for a pumpkin. If your own little pumpkins still aren’t tired by the end of a day here, let them play on the inflatable slide and jump house—they’ll be snoozing on the way home.

Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch in Orange County is fun for the entire family. Among the many activities for kids of all ages are train rides, hay rides, jump houses, face painting, panning for gold, mini John Deere racing, carnival games (again, everyone gets a prize), and cookie decorating. Visit the not-too-spooky haunted house, find your way through the hay maze, and climb on top of the hay pyramid. Be sure to capture the memories by taking a photo or two in the festive, fall picture stands! To make your day last even longer, rent a bike, surrey, or paddle boat, ride a pony, and visit the Orange County Zoo.

A corn maze, activities, and lots of photo opportunities make Tanaka Farms a fun-filled Pumpkin Patch. Find your way out of the corn maze and ride a wagon around the farm. You can pick veggies (fresh carrots, cilantro, radishes, turnips, and green onions) from a patch, pet animals (goats, sheep, alpacas, and rescue chickens), and enjoy a sunflower field! As part of the Weekend Fall Harvest Festival, you can also launch a pumpkin into the hills, ride ATVs, play games, get a face painting, and enjoy shave ice, hot dogs, nachos, churros, lemonade and more. Wander the acres of pumpkins to choose from all sizes, colors, and varieties of pumpkins—white, green, pink, speckled, orange, flat, round, bumpy, mini, and large. Be sure to stop by the Market Stand for a refreshment afterward. Tanaka Farms is a place for fun and lasting memories!
