D
id you know that Eagle Community Credit Union
turned 78 years old on February 27, 2015? We are
tremendously proud of our history and, to this day,
we remain focused on our roots – our core Membership of
postal and federal employees, their families and our local
community!
As you know, Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial
cooperatives – owned and operated by their members.
As is the nature of cooperatives, the more engaged
members are, the more everyone benefits. I can’t begin to
tell you how much we appreciate your Membership and
engagement with Eagle.
YOU
truly are the reason we exist!
In celebration of
YOU
we are hosting a
Member
Appreciation Week
April 20
th
through April 24
th
with a focus
on “protection”. Throughout the week we will have team
members and partners there to discuss Member benefits
and discounts, walk you through enrolling in Ultimate
Checking with IDProtect, provide you with tips for online
security, and offer
FREE
document shredding on Friday.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a celebration without giveaways,
drawings and a whole bunch of other
FUN
stuff you don’t
want to miss! I hope you’ll take the opportunity to come
by and visit with us – give us an opportunity to say “Thank
You” in person. In fact, bring your friends! I will be touring
the branches throughout the week to meet and chat with as
many people as possible and I am looking forward to seeing
you there! The week will be punctuated with our 78
th
Annual
Meeting of the Membership at 5:00 PM on Wednesday,
April 22, 2015 in our Lake Forest Branch lobby. All Members
are invited and encouraged to attend, participate in our
cooperative and meet our
volunteer
Board of Directors and
Supervisory Committee that were elected by you.
In addition, April is National Credit Union Youth Month and
we have a bunch of
WILD
events planned in our branches
for youth. Check out the next page for details.
As you know, philanthropy is a big part of our culture and
an opportunity for us to “give back” to the communities
we serve. I am very proud to announce that for the 7
th
consecutive year, Eagle Community Credit Union will be
supporting the National Association of Letter Carriers and
the largest nationwide one-day food drive – Stamp Out
Hunger – held on Saturday, May 9
th
by providing 1 million
bags for distribution in our area. Please help us help those
in need! Use the bags to donate non-perishable food items
during the 2015 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!
In the words of Helen Keller,
“Alone we can do so little,
together we can do so much.”
